Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions answered by our technical team.

Most automatic sliding doors use microwave (radar) or passive infrared (PIR) motion sensors mounted above the door header. The sensor detects movement within a defined activation zone in front of the door. When a person enters the zone, the sensor triggers the door controller, which commands the motor drive to open the door.

The Push and Go function allows the door to open when a person gives it a light manual push without using a full power-open activation. The door motor then takes over and completes the opening and closing cycle automatically.

Low-energy mode is a setting where the door opens and closes at reduced speed (typically 30-50% of normal speed) and with reduced force. This mode is required by safety standards for doors in healthcare facilities and any location where a person with mobility limitations may be in contact with the door.

Yes. Rudhar Group automatic sliding doors are available with optional UPS battery backup that allows the door to complete several open-close cycles after mains power loss. Additionally, all sliding doors have a manual push-open feature when motor power is off.

Sliding doors are preferred where floor space in front of the entrance is limited (no door swing arc required), where high pedestrian volume needs a wide clear opening, and for a modern aesthetic. Swing doors are preferred in smaller openings and where side space for a sliding panel is not available.

Bi-annually: check door alignment, panel rollers and carriage wheels for wear. Annually: full service by a Rudhar Group technician.
