Fire Doors Doors

Fire rated doors are specialist doors tested and purpose-built to withstand fire for a specified duration, giving buildings time to evacuate safely and preventing fire from spreading between compartments. Rudhar Group manufactures fire rated doors in FD30, FD60, FD90 and FD120 ratings (denoting 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes of fire resistance) for staircase enclosures, lift lobbies, plant rooms and fire compartments, compliant with NBC 2016 and IS 3614.

Fire doors serve two vital, complementary functions:

  • When closed, they form a barrier that stops the spread of fire and smoke between compartments.
  • When opened, they provide a safe means of escape for occupants.

Features & Benefits

  • Available in FD30, FD60, FD90 and FD120 fire-resistance ratings to match the compartmentalisation requirement.
  • Intumescent seals around the door edges expand when temperatures exceed 200°C, sealing the gap between door and frame.
  • Self-closing hinges or door closers ensure the door returns to a closed position after use.
  • Steel or fire-rated composite door leaf construction for durability in commercial and industrial settings.
  • Vision panels available with fire-rated glass where visibility through the door is required.
  • Regular inspection and correct installation by a competent team is essential — fire doors are a carefully engineered life-safety device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions answered by our technical team.

Rudhar Group supplies a complete range of loading bay equipment including mechanical and hydraulic dock levellers, inflatable and foam-filled dock shelters, dock seals (foam compression type), dock bumpers (rubber and UHMWPE), wheel guides and vehicle restraints, dock lights, and loading bay doors.

A dock leveller is a hinged steel platform installed at the dock face that bridges the height difference between the warehouse floor and the truck bed floor. Truck beds vary in height by 150-450 mm depending on load and vehicle type. Without a dock leveller, a forklift cannot safely transition between the warehouse floor and the truck bed.

A mechanical dock leveller is activated by a pull chain with no power supply required. A hydraulic dock leveller is operated by a push-button control panel using a hydraulic cylinder electrically. Hydraulic levellers are safer, smoother to operate, and preferred for heavy-duty and high-frequency applications.

A dock shelter seals the gap between the building opening and the sides and top of the truck body during loading, preventing rain, wind, insects, dust and temperature from entering the warehouse. Inflatable dock shelters use air-filled cushions that conform to the truck shape for a better seal.

UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) dock bumpers are mounted on the dock face to protect the building structure from impact when trucks reverse into the dock. UHMWPE is significantly more impact-resistant and wear-resistant compared to rubber bumpers, extending service life 3-5 times.

The dock leveller size is determined by the range of truck bed heights that will use the dock, the maximum forklift load that will travel across the leveller, the forklift type, and the required frequency of use. Rudhar Group team conducts a site assessment and recommends the appropriate specification.
