Fire Doors Doors

Fire rated doors are specialist doors tested and purpose-built to withstand fire for a specified duration, giving buildings time to evacuate safely and preventing fire from spreading between compartments. Rudhar Group manufactures fire rated doors in FD30, FD60, FD90 and FD120 ratings (denoting 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes of fire resistance) for staircase enclosures, lift lobbies, plant rooms and fire compartments, compliant with NBC 2016 and IS 3614.

Fire doors serve two vital, complementary functions:

  • When closed, they form a barrier that stops the spread of fire and smoke between compartments.
  • When opened, they provide a safe means of escape for occupants.

Features & Benefits

  • Available in FD30, FD60, FD90 and FD120 fire-resistance ratings to match the compartmentalisation requirement.
  • Intumescent seals around the door edges expand when temperatures exceed 200°C, sealing the gap between door and frame.
  • Self-closing hinges or door closers ensure the door returns to a closed position after use.
  • Steel or fire-rated composite door leaf construction for durability in commercial and industrial settings.
  • Vision panels available with fire-rated glass where visibility through the door is required.
  • Regular inspection and correct installation by a competent team is essential — fire doors are a carefully engineered life-safety device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions answered by our technical team.

Rudhar Group manufactures swing gates (single-leaf and double-leaf), industrial sliding gates, telescopic sliding gates (2 and 3 leaf), and retractable gates. All gate types are available in motorized and manual operation modes.

A swing gate opens by rotating on a hinge and requires clear space for the swing arc. A sliding gate moves horizontally along a track parallel to the boundary wall, ideal where space in front is limited. Telescopic gates require even less back space.

Yes. All automatic gates from Rudhar Group have a manual override facility. In case of power failure, the gate can be operated manually using a mechanical release. Optional battery backup systems (UPS) are also available.

Automatic gates from Rudhar Group include: infrared photo cell beam (detects obstacles and stops or reverses the gate), obstacle detection on the motor controller, manual override, safety edge on swing gates, and adjustable auto-close timer.

Gates are fabricated using mild steel (MS) square hollow sections, rectangular sections, flat bars and sheet panels. Stainless steel options are available for premium installations. The frame is finished with rust-inhibiting primer followed by powder coating or spray paint.

A well-maintained automatic gate from Rudhar Group lasts 15-20 years. The gate structure itself can last indefinitely with periodic painting and maintenance. The motor and control system typically have a 10-15 year life.
