Fire Doors Doors

Fire rated doors are specialist doors tested and purpose-built to withstand fire for a specified duration, giving buildings time to evacuate safely and preventing fire from spreading between compartments. Rudhar Group manufactures fire rated doors in FD30, FD60, FD90 and FD120 ratings (denoting 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes of fire resistance) for staircase enclosures, lift lobbies, plant rooms and fire compartments, compliant with NBC 2016 and IS 3614.

Fire doors serve two vital, complementary functions:

  • When closed, they form a barrier that stops the spread of fire and smoke between compartments.
  • When opened, they provide a safe means of escape for occupants.

Features & Benefits

  • Available in FD30, FD60, FD90 and FD120 fire-resistance ratings to match the compartmentalisation requirement.
  • Intumescent seals around the door edges expand when temperatures exceed 200°C, sealing the gap between door and frame.
  • Self-closing hinges or door closers ensure the door returns to a closed position after use.
  • Steel or fire-rated composite door leaf construction for durability in commercial and industrial settings.
  • Vision panels available with fire-rated glass where visibility through the door is required.
  • Regular inspection and correct installation by a competent team is essential — fire doors are a carefully engineered life-safety device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions answered by our technical team.

A fixed bollard is a permanent steel post embedded in concrete that cannot be moved or lowered. It provides maximum impact resistance and is used where vehicle access is permanently prohibited. A retractable bollard can be raised and lowered on demand and is used where vehicle access is needed at certain times but restricted at others.

Security bollards are tested under standards such as PAS 68 (UK) and IWA 14-1 (International). Ratings specify the vehicle weight, speed and penetration distance after impact. Anti-ram bollards for high-security sites (government buildings, embassies, banks) are specified to PAS 68 or IWA 14-1.

Rudhar Group bollards are manufactured from mild steel (MS) or stainless steel hollow sections, typically 114-219 mm outer diameter with 5-12 mm wall thickness. Fixed bollards are filled with concrete after installation for added mass. The material specification is selected based on impact resistance requirement.

Standard fixed bollards are embedded 500-600 mm into concrete foundations. Anti-ram high-security bollards require 900-1200 mm deep reinforced concrete foundations. Retractable bollards are installed in a pre-formed cassette housing that requires a 900-1100 mm deep foundation.

Yes. Automatic retractable bollards from Rudhar Group have controller inputs compatible with access control keypads, RFID card readers, remote controls, traffic management systems, and building automation systems. Multiple bollards can be controlled from a single panel.

Standard automatic retractable bollards rise and lower in 3-6 seconds. Fast-cycle models for high-frequency vehicle access complete a cycle in 2-3 seconds. High-security models prioritise impact resistance over speed and may have a 6-10 second cycle time.
