Fire Doors Doors

Fire rated doors are specialist doors tested and purpose-built to withstand fire for a specified duration, giving buildings time to evacuate safely and preventing fire from spreading between compartments. Rudhar Group manufactures fire rated doors in FD30, FD60, FD90 and FD120 ratings (denoting 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes of fire resistance) for staircase enclosures, lift lobbies, plant rooms and fire compartments, compliant with NBC 2016 and IS 3614.

Fire doors serve two vital, complementary functions:

  • When closed, they form a barrier that stops the spread of fire and smoke between compartments.
  • When opened, they provide a safe means of escape for occupants.

Features & Benefits

  • Available in FD30, FD60, FD90 and FD120 fire-resistance ratings to match the compartmentalisation requirement.
  • Intumescent seals around the door edges expand when temperatures exceed 200°C, sealing the gap between door and frame.
  • Self-closing hinges or door closers ensure the door returns to a closed position after use.
  • Steel or fire-rated composite door leaf construction for durability in commercial and industrial settings.
  • Vision panels available with fire-rated glass where visibility through the door is required.
  • Regular inspection and correct installation by a competent team is essential — fire doors are a carefully engineered life-safety device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions answered by our technical team.

Aluminium shutters are 30-40% lighter than galvanised steel for the same shutter area. This reduces motor load and makes manual operation easier. Aluminium is naturally corrosion-resistant without requiring zinc galvanising, ideal for coastal, humid and outdoor environments.

Rudhar Group manufactures aluminium rolling shutters in double-walled and single-walled extruded aluminium profiles. Double-walled profiles offer better rigidity and improved insulation. Single-walled profiles are lighter and more economical for standard commercial applications.

Yes. Aluminium puff insulated rolling shutters are available with PUF (polyurethane foam) injected between double-skin aluminium profiles, providing thermal insulation for temperature-controlled environments and noise reduction.

Aluminium rolling shutters are available up to 12 feet width in standard configurations. For wider openings, a centre guide system or multi-section installation is used. Maximum height is 12-14 feet for standard profile sections.

Yes. All aluminium rolling shutters from Rudhar Group are available with powder coating in any RAL colour. Standard anodised finishes (natural silver, gold, bronze, black) are also available.

Yes. Aluminium rolling shutters are the preferred choice for retail shops and showrooms. Their light weight allows easy manual operation, their appearance is aesthetically suitable for retail, and their corrosion resistance makes them low-maintenance.
